Welcome to Pulsworks Audio Arts Recording Studios!

Recording is an Art. It is more than just your music, the people, the equipment and the rooms. It’s the sum of all of this mixed with passion and experience that makes your music come to life. This is what we are here for. We are your extension to capture the passion of what so many simply call “music”.

Pulsworks Recording Studios is a world class music and sound production facility, located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the heart of Canada. We work with artists from around the world covering every musical genre. Every artist and production is unique with their own special and distinctive sound.

When you work with us, you will achieve the sound you want using whatever production techniques and technologies it takes to get it.

This is not an idle promise. Our  team of music production and sound engineering specialists span a period from the 1960’s, to today and our equipment list covers almost everything you can imagine. From vintage microphones to the most recent top end digital technologies and everything in between. It even includes equipment that has not been put into production yet and some that was so limited, only a few pieces exist in the world today.

The studio atmosphere is both relaxed and professional. The personnel are often brilliant in their capacities to give you what you need, whether it be expertise or just a little humor to get everyone relaxed and back on track.

We consider every project a challenge, to make you, the artist, the best you can be. Scale is not a factor, whether you are creating the next top 40 hit, or just want the best sounding karaoke version of your special song, we put in the same dedication, effort and expertise.

Welcome to Pulsworks Recording Studios.

      Control Room One

Control Room One is our primary tracking and mixing room. It is wired to every recording area in the studio. It is also connected to Control Two which can become an additional recording space featuring an Amek Einstein Super E console with 40 modules, totaling 80 channels of input as the center-piece. We can record to our 32 input/32 output Pro Tools HD system or alternatively our 24 track Otari MX-80 2 inch tape machine. Our Studer B67 1/4 inch machine is also available as a mixdown recorder.

Main monitoring is provided by Bryston 7B-powered PMC IB1 3-way loudspeakers. Upon request, Control 1′s main monitoring can be expanded to a full 5.1 system for audio for picture mixing projects. Our processing racks contain many great preamps, compressors, eq and effects by NPNG, API, Rupert Neve Designs, Empirical Labs, Drawmer, TC Electronic, Yamaha and many others (see complete list below)

     Recording Areas

Pulsworks’ recording areas start with The Live Room, our primary tracking space. It is a fabulous sounding room for drums, guitars, vocals or any sound that requires a little space around it. The Live Room features 12 foot ceilings, a massive 450 Sq. feet of floor space, and a very natural ambient sound. The room acoustics can also be modified to provide a slightly drier sound. Our collection of amplifiers as well as our vintage Hammond M111 and Leslie Model 145 live here as well.

Next, we have the Booth. In contrast to the Live Room, The Booth has a much drier sound with less ambient sound. It’s perfect for rockin’ guitar tracks, intimate vocals, isolating instruments during live recordings and voice-overs.

     Mobile Recording

Our mobile recording rig lets us bring the studio to you. We offer 24-track recording with a great selection of preamps and other equipment from the studio. For concert recordings, we can also interface with the venue’s PA system and use it as the front-end for our recording chain. We have a 75ft snake, back-up recorder and, of course, our microphone locker is available for mobile recordings to cover all sources or just to supplement an existing set-up.
